Back in Business

Betty at the LakeBetty is back together! After several months all of that busted up plastic is repaired and painted. It went back on in a flash, and, after a small amount of unnecessary paranoia about my brake system, the bike is riding smoothly. I’ve done most of the modifications I had planned and it’s been a long time since I last rode, so it was a little hard to compare, but I think everything is in excellent order.

UPDATE: Forcefield Pro L2 Back-Protector Insert price changes

Don’t say I never did anything for ya! I get more hits on my review of my Rev’It! Ignition jacket than any other post on this blog, and the majority of them come from searches for Forcefield Pro L2 back protector inserts. So to help you out I thought I would let you know that I just bought another one, this time in the states.

REVIEW: Arai RX-7 Corsair Helmet

arai_rx7_corsairI’ve been wearing an Arai RX-7 Corsair for about a year now and feel that I have sufficient experience with it to give my opinion. I’ll try to be thorough, but since this is the first helmet I have worn since I was in high school, other than the lids I tried on when shopping last year, I can only do so much comparison. I’ll will cover the following areas: Fit, Features, Loudness, Weight, Venting, and Finish.

2009 Mod Plans

I have a bunch of stuff sitting around waiting to be put on the bike this year, but I think I am going to take it slow rather than throw them all on at once. Some of it is going on before I pull her out of winter storage, but the rest will be as-I-find-time projects.

REVIEW: Rev'It! Ignition Jacket & Forcefield Back Protection Insert

I’ve been riding for a year now and in that time I’ve tried on a fair amount of gear. For torso protection I opted for the Ignition Jacket by Rev’It!, a fairly young Belgian company, and a T-Pro back protection insert from Forcefield in the UK. My second choice would have been the Spidi well-reviewed Step-in-Road, but at the time it was $200 more and it seamed like a giant waste of money considering I couldn’t find one to try one anywhere in NYC.
