Stripes!

Belly Pan Paint IdeasOne thing that motorcyclists are always trying to do is go faster, and what makes your bike go faster than a stripe? A red stripe! I’ve been messing around with ideas and this is what I have so far. I need to hurry up and make up my mind because it is almost time to lay down the paint. Feel free to share your thoughts.

Well, okay. I’ve finally got to your blog and have decided that I can’t decide. I like each of the schemes for their own merits but I will say that I’m leaning toward the photo at upper right, followed by lower left.

I like the lower right but, to me, it may need the black line removed, as in the upper right photo.

    Cheers.

I have a 2000 sv650 and am looking into a belly pan. I really like the one you have – did it come with hardware? what I need to know is where does it install to as far as mounting? Thanks

Yes, it came with all of the hardware. It uses two brackets to mount to the engine via that hex head bolts that hold the covers on either side. You only remove a few on each side to install it and it took me about 15 minutes. The problem with this pan, though, is that it sits very close to the pipe, and since I didn’t use enough heat shielding tape the pain blistered. Now I have to repaint it. I recommend that you add vents toward the back to increase airflow as well as use lots of heat shield tape.
